Mahonia pallida, only introduced to the UK in 1987 from Mexico, is a rare species with blue-green pinnate young foliage turning deep green later. A smaller growing summer flowering species with long tassels of small pallid yellow flowers which are followed by long hanging threads of bloomy blue-black grape like fruit.
A smaller shrub of quiet unassuming charm and seemingly perfectly hardy and though it is slow to establish, is none the less very easy to grow. A choice and rare species. Limited stock.
Supplied in a 9cm pot.
