| | Valued mainly for its foliage effect alone. Makes neat rosettes of fine silvery-grey finely divided leaves, almost white in dry weather, above which float branching heads of creamy-yellow flowers in early summer on 25 cm stems. One of the best plant for a hot dry position in full sun on poor soils. A lovely well behaved and easy rock plant.

| | | Erodium macradenum (glandulosum) is a charming long-blooming evergreen perennial alpine plant which forms a low tuft or mound of ferny olive-green leaves, effective as ground cover. Orchid-like flowers appear from late spring through to the fall, in a soft lavender shade with deep violet-black spots or eyes. One of the hardiest Heron's bill species, asking only for the excellent drainage provided by a rock garden, gravel scree or alpine trough. Divide clumps every 2 to 3 years in spring. | | | Pratia angulata ‘Treadwell’ or ‘Treadwellii ‘as it is often labeled is a very hardy and long-blooming ground cover perennial. Pratia angulata is sometimes confused with the Australian species Pratia pedunculata. Pratia angulata ‘Treadwell’ is native to New Zealand and often called the White Star Pratia, or creeper. It has been known and grown in the past under avariety of names such as Laurentia fluviatilis, Lobelia fluviatilis, Isotoma fluviatilis, and Isotoma axilaris.
