Aquilegia (Columbine) 6 plant Collection
6 varieties, 1 of each - Aquilegia Dorothy Rose, Aquilegia Kristall, Aquilegia Songbird Nightigale, Aquilegia vulgaris Nora Barlow, Aquilegia caerulea Rose Queen, Aquilegia caerulea Blue Star.
An unbelievable collection of some of the best Columbine varieties, to brighten up even the most troublesome of gardens. All Aquilegias have wonderful foliage that emerges early in the year, creating mounds of bright green. When you see their foliage appear in the garden, spring is just around the corner!
Aquilegia 'Nightingale' is a member of the "Songbird Series", this selection sports exquisite, 75mm, long-spurred, lavender and white bicolour flowers. Hybridised for their compact habit and large flowers, the "Songbird Series" is one of the most showy of all aquilegia. The most unique feature of the plants in this series is the way in which the flowers face up, not nodding like many other varieties.
Aquilegia vulgaris 'Dorothy Rose'
Aquilegia vulgaris 'Dorothy Rose', has exquisite rose-pink double flowers that are displayed high above glaucous blue-green foliage. The unique hose-in-hose style blooms look like several flowers set inside of each other, resembling a ruffled dress.
Aquilegia vulgaris 'Nora Barlow'
Aquilegia vulgaris 'Nora Barlow' is an erect plant to 80cm, with divided, dark blue-green leaves and nodding, spurless, double flowers 2-3cm wide, composed of many narrow, dull deep pink and pale green petals. This popular herbaceous perennial will tolerate any half decent soil. Grows in full sun to around 80cm tall.
Aquilegia 'Kristall' is a strong growing herbaceous perennial with green-blue divided foliage and nodding, pure white flowers on upright stems from late spring until early summer.
Aquilegia caerulea ‘Rose Queen'
Aquilegia caerulea ‘Rose Queen' is a quite delightful Columbine, producing gorgeous large blossoms with intensely dark-rose petals and matching long spurs surrounding a beautifully contrasting white corolla. Makes a fine cut flower. Grows to 60cm.
Aquilegia caerulea ‘Blue Star'
Aquilegia caerulea ‘Blue Star' Columbine features large, blue flowers with a white corolla. The foliage is also very special with its fancy-lobed, dusky blue-green leaves.
