Anemone x hybrida 'Andrea Atkinson'
is rated one of the top ‘Japanese Anemone’, or ‘Windflower’ varieties. It flowers for up to two months during the later part of summer and into autumn, and is both robust in stature and very hardy, coming through in the last few tough winters without damage. The flowers are pure white with clotted cream centres, mostlysingle but occasionally semi-double in form, and slightly larger than those of the more common Anemone x hybrida ‘Honorine Jobert'.
‘Japanese Anemones’ thrive in full sun or partial shade and deep, rich, preferably moist soil. Once established, they will fill in any available space, though these plants are far too charming to be called invasive.Cultivation Notes
Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerates a wide range of soils except heavy, poorly drained ones. Prefers rich, moist soils in light to moderate shade. When foliage and flowers depreciate in winter, plants may be cut to the ground.
Can be planted in most soil types. Use in mixed perennial borders for late summer and autumn effect.
Pruning \ Aftercare : Remove faded flowers as required.
